State Insurance Departments & Regulations
The official insurance regulator and published insurance regulations for all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Insurance departments adopt regulations under their state's insurance code, published in each state's administrative code. Appraisal itself is mostly governed by statutes, standard policy forms and court decisions; where a department has adopted appraisal-specific rules or guidance (for example Texas's TWIA umpire rule), they appear in the research library and on that state's page.
